Meath Gardens (formerly the privately-owned Victoria Park Cemetery) was founded in 1842. It closed to burials in 1876 having fallen into disuse and only a few gravestones remain today. The gardens were opened in 1894 by the Duke of York and renamed Meath Gardens after the Metropolitan Public Gardens Association's Chairman, the Earl of Meath. There is children's play equipment, basketball and football facilities and a Trim Track in the park . Restoration to the entrance arch was carried out in 2018. The park currently holds a Green Flag Award
A lot of families here are so mistreating of dogs. And I mean well behaved, clean dogs minding their own business. The parents teach their child to be afraid of even small puppies... kids literally see a puppy, and start screaming. That is uncivilised.
Nice park tucked away nicely away from the crowds, great for a family picnic.
Fab park with great playground for kids. Bit of a problem with litter sometimes
