A 19th-century railway viaduct in Northumberland, England, built in 1885 and designed by engineer Thomas Bouch, featuring 6 arches and a maximum height of 80 feet (24 meters), offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
Great old viaduct transformed into a perfect recreation area ideal for walking, cycling, running etc. along the now tarmacked track. Easy (ish) walk from our parking spot on the lane adjacent to the woods with access clearly signed. Do a standalone walk or the circular walk taking in the viaduct and reservoir.
Nice view and a great cycle and walking route from Okehampton to lidford
Interesting walk to go on especially if you go to the dam at the reservoir
Area of outstanding beauty. High up. You can now walk or ride the viaduct that used to have a train run across it, up in the air. Path leads to a pub. But straight on from there is a little cafe that sells dog ice cream. So cute, if you have a dog. The cafe hires bikes too. Straight on to the haunted highwayman inn.
This place is lovely, good size car park only PS2 for the day. The scenery is beautiful, little streams running down the hills and little caves, which the kids loved. Bit of a climb to the top of the viaduct but once up there the scenery is amazing. Could see the dam which will be going back another day to see. Highly recommend a visit if your in Devon.
A place I've known of, for most of my life. Now, I have walked over and under it.
