A theme park and zoo hybrid, Merlin Park features a magical realm where mythical creatures and legendary beasts come to life. The park is divided into themed areas, each showcasing a unique aspect of mythology and folklore. Visitors can explore the Dragon's Kingdom, where they can see fire-breathing dragons and learn about their mythical significance. The park is also home to a vast collection of animals, including tigers, lions, and monkeys, as well as a walk-through aviary and a reptile house. Live shows and performances, such as falconry displays and dragon-themed stunt shows, add to the park's entertainment value. With its unique blend of thrill rides, animal exhibits, and mythical wonders, Merlin Park offers an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages.
Great open space and development on the former airfield. Well maintained flat field and pathways good for walking, cycling etc. Numerous benches/picnic tables, play areas. Very relaxing.
Living on the development means the park is immediately accessible. Unfortunately, people from outside travel in and the issues we have are dogs not on leads, owners who do not clean up their mess, or leave the bags on the fences - loads of bins for that reason but ignored. Horse riders who feel they have right of access when they have their own bridle path and off road bikes being idiots. With the recent rain and snow the ponds have over flowed and the other soakaways are full but with no fencing around them. Residents pay for the park and other (outside) users might benefit from respecting the area and treating it as if it was theirs and not a dumping ground.
Nice walk, it was a little muddy though, playground is lovely for little kiddies
Nice little walk for folk, peaceful and quiet
Clean and maintained lawn, kids playground is also maintained and broken equipment replaced periodically. It is ok for a new estate park to walk your dog or have a walk with the kids. No dedicated parking, just on street.
