The Migration Museum stages inspiring exhibitions, events and workshops that shine a light on the many ways that the movement of people to and from Britain across the ages has shaped who we are - as individuals, as communities, and as a nation.
Small but powerful museum in a Community space. Very well laid out with accessible personal stories from people around the globe: their experiences - good and not so good. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. Free entry but with an option to give a donation. Check opening hours!
I LOVED THE MIGRATION MUSEUM. As an immigrant and someone who has always been interested in the study of migration, this museum has been on my to-do list for quite a long time! I went during Refugee Week 2024 so they had a special refugee trail for their Heart of the Nation Exhibition. I loved it - there were little notes to read, audio to listen to, videos to watch as well as little special objects that the people in the exhibition used years ago. There is also a little children's corner and community space to make the museum accessible for all ages. They also have a migrant makers market that sells some amazing things like prints, food ingredients from around the world, stationary and books! I would highly recommend coming here - and it's free entry!
This museum adds so much to Lewisham shopping Centre. Free entrance, no tickets required, wheelchair accessible, toilets available. They have different exhibitions and also do workshops. Children area is great fun for kids, always organised and clean. You can purchase gifts or books at the entrance of the museum. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Small but impactfull museum situated in Lewisham Shopping Centre. Worth visiting, sometimes they have workshops for kids, is a great plus.
It is a small museum with a few exhibits, but there are potential plans for expansion from what we've been told. The staff are very knowledgable and friendly. The exhibits are very I'm important to the local history of Lewisham and England in general. I think if they can expand, it would be great. It's a short visit, but a good one!
We loved our visit here. It was quiet but there really is so much to do and interact with for children. Lots to learn and discover for all in interesting and engaging exhibits. Free too! We'll definitely return
