Mill Force is a thrilling river rapids ride located in the Alton Towers theme park in Staffordshire, United Kingdom. The ride features a winding course that takes riders through a scenic route, before dropping them down an 18-foot (5.5 m) slope into a turbulent river, generating waves and whitewater effects. The ride's boats are designed to spin and twirl as they navigate the choppy waters, adding to the sense of unpredictability and excitement.
Two ways to get to these falls, straight over the field from the Castle ruins , stick to the wall, quite steep in places but 300m ish, or head down the road from the castle a bit and across to the river and follow it up ( longer but safer) limited parking (2-3 cars) no one there when I went . River in full flow after heavy rains. Pics taken 3pm in Feb. 6stop Nd filter on Canon 600d , no Photoshop. I do need a better tripod though
Went to see the falls as part of a circular walk that appeared to follow the River Greta. Parked at St. Giles' church and explored Bowes Castle on the way down to the river. Unfortunately, it was pouring down all day so I didn't catch it at it's best. The walk didn't follow the river, in fact it was completely out of sight for most of it. To get to the falls was a scramble down over wet rocks but nonetheless worth the effort. Limited places to take photos and would definitely be better in the dry? If you do visit make time to look around the castle and church.
Nice little waterfall, easy to access
Lovely little spot ideal for stroll, beautiful waterfall, not the easiest to find but worth it
Great walk for me and my 3 year old , sat by the river having a picnic
Picturesque but not enough water on the day.
Wheelchair-accessible car park
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
