The wey river cuts through Guildford, providing a green corridor through the busy town centre and it's traffic. However this narrow strip of nature is marred by irresponsible dog owners not picking up after them, and irresponsible revelers not picking up after themselves (beer bottles and cans aplenty!)
Visited April 11, 2019: Lovely tranquil area for a walk (or a run!)
Part of a historic feat in the form of establishment of lock gates & canals, that changed the economy of the then Britain, Millmead lock is hidden behind bylanes but is restored with a small park / picnic area next to it. Worth a visit if you have time in hand and interest in such history while visiting Guildford
