The lead mines offer a fascinating glimpse into the industrial past of the beautiful Clywedog Valley and visitors can explore the country park seeing remains of the lead processing areas from the 18th and 19th centuries, the restored beam engine house, winding engine and boiler houses. There is also a visitor centre that tells the story of the site plus a country park covering 53 acres of grassland, wooded areas and archaeological sites. The facilities (toilets & interpretation centre) opening times vary.
Not bad for a quick visit. Good to walk around. Footpaths around area muddy but that's to be expected given the recent weather. Buildings are behind metal screens due to their condition but you can still take in the history of the place. Good parking right next to the site.
Interesting to explore the mine. lots of walks and things to see around the mines. Easy to get to and large carpark
Easy to find, but no signal when there (o2) not massive amount of things to do here just walk around. Plenty of free parking though.
Brilliant. Free parking Free walk around and Free audio visual exhibition. This was a great couple of hours spent with some interesting history. Definitely worth a stop off
The Minera Lead mine at the current time is shown as temporarily closed , I'm not sure as to why because it appears to have been that way for a while , however if you are in the are stop and take a look because you can see a fair bit from the right side if the fence, also walk right up to the top on the trackway stand head on to the pumphouse and chimney and you can get some great reflection shots from the small lake infront.
Free parking and nice walk around. Everything was closed as we visited in the evening. Had a nice stroll looking at the lead mines and then went for a walk. You can walk to the nearby quarry its around 1.5 miles and is signposted.
