A long stretch of sand coupled with ample free parking and children's outdoor play area near by make Minnis Bay the perfect beach for an afternoon in the sun. For the adventurous there is plenty of space for water sports, such as windsurfing or kite boarding and there is a sailing club close by. The Minnis Bay paddling pool is the perfect location to hunt for crustaceans and there is also an excellent restaurant with a bar, and a kiosk on the prom. At high tide, usually a small amount of beach remains, except at spring time when the beach can disappear until the tide moves out again.
Really a lovely discovery. Beautiful sandy beach a very nice stroll along the shore. I must say be careful to visitors, the tide came in super fast we got cut off on one of the stair ways onto the beach, we was not in danger but you can get distracted so beware. We didn't visit the bar or shop we saw as it was late in the afternoon. Would definitely visit again
Lovely sandy beach, tide goes really far out, parking was free, life guards were there, dogs only allowed 100m away from the busy part which is understandable, sort of clean, decent atmosphere
What a beautiful little bay We had such a wonderful surprise Fresh water lido amazing Little quaint beach huts Most amazing shellls on the beach oyster cockles muscles slipper shell etc etc very interesting beach Highly recommended walk along the promenade
It's a great beach. Lovely sand. Clean. Never too busy but usually busy enough for a good vibe. Make sure you look at the tides because when it's up there is no beach and when it's all the way out it's very shallow and the sea floor is soft with clay... but it is a great place. Good food and ice cream and drinks to be had as well.
A pleasant little place by the sea, with a ramp for disabled access down to a sandy beach. The seafront cafe was nice, with accessible loos, as was the nearby bar & brasserie. The only negative was the smell of seaweed (Japanese knotweed) that had been piled up for removal. A lovely little seaside place, with good parking too, for a quiet day out.
Lovely beach, mainly sand. Patrolled by Lifeguards in the summer. Toilets located with a cafe and bar. Lovely walk along the Viking Coastal trail path.
