This 15th-century hall house features a mix of medieval and Tudor architectural styles, with a timber-framed structure, steeply pitched roof, and ornate stone chimney. The adjacent dovecote, built in the 16th century, is a rare example of a circular dovecote with a conical roof, housing over 1,000 nesting boxes for pigeons. The estate's tranquil surroundings, including a moat and a beautiful garden, add to the historic charm of this picturesque attraction.
The most beautiful ruins I have ever visited. Parking is approximately 200 metres away and is free parking with about 10 spaces available. The walk down takes you through the churchyard into the ruined hall and Dovecote which is reached through a gate at the bottom end of the hall garden. This attraction has some information boards dotted around and is very dog and family friendly. A thoroughly enjoyable visit of about 45 minutes..... And it's free too!
Beautiful historical place. It's behind the church. You can park at a public parking area but it's just only 5-6 spaces. But I parked in the village and walked 10 minutes here. Very convenient for me.
Wonder site with a fantastic river frontage for walks and picnics . Fun for families and individuals alike who love their history. Part of English heritage free to enter sites .
Minster Lovel is a beautiful place, steeped in history set by the mighty windrush. It's lovely to wander past the existing church and view the ruins.
I loved this place. Visited beginning of May. Had the whole place to myself. Amazed by the size of ruins.
Nice, quiet pub. We decided to have supper here. Initially, we were told they had limited amount(?) and we hadn't booked so we wouldn't be able to but then they said we could. They had pies for the main course. The pastry of the pie was light, like a dessert pastry. The vegetarian pie was filled with ratatouille vegetables which was a little dissapointing as I was expecting something different. The pie was served with a sauce, mash and some vegetables. For dessert, we chose sticky toffee pudding which was served with minimal sauce so we asked for extra. The restaurant was pleasant with well spaced out tables. The service was good and the price was very reasonable too.
