Monikie Country Park is an ANGUSalive operated site which offers something for all the family. There are accessible walks around the reservoirs, playgrounds, self led trails and bird hides. Monikie Country Park also runs a number of adventure activities for all groups and individuals with high ropes, mountain biking, kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing, sailing, team building, raft building and paddleboarding all on offer. There are portable BBQs on offer to hire as well as a private marquee area available for hire throughout the year for group events, parties or even weddings! The park itself is open 24 hours a day with the site being staffed during most daylight hours. There is also an independently run cafe on site called Cafe Byzantium.
Nice, scenic large country park in Dundee. It has two ponds, lots of ducks and swans. Distance: 15-20 mins drive from dundee city centre. Food: Inside the park coffee and snacks restaurant is available. Activities: People can come for water activities as well. Ticket: No entry ticket. Parking: Free parking available.
First visit to this park with my friend in his wheelchair. Lovely walks along tarmac/concrete paths. Nice cafe with a choice of cakes, teas and coffees etc. Will definitely visit again
Amazing place for picnic and family day out
It was a cold, winter afternoon when Caber and I wandered around the park and we were the only ones there, along with the ducks I can however, imagine it's popular in better weather and when the cafe is open. There does seem to be plenty of activity adventures on offer, including fishing. So, definitely worth a visit for families with kids, or those still kids at heart...and a dog walkers paradise. Also a great wee place to have a picnic. There's plenty of parking available and also public toilets.
Fun day out. Plenty of Watersport activities to keep kids and adults occupied. On-site facilities include cafe/restaurant. Duck feeding for PS1 a bag or BYO pellets. Play park for the kids and plenty of picnic benches. Definitely recommend 9/10
Plenty of parking for a start, a large kids play area, looking like a fort, information centre, restaurant (if it's open), walks, water sports, fishing, picnic benches and lots of water. 2 reservoirs and a big natural pond. Lots of birds to see and feed the ducks if you want. The best part for me was walking to the far side of the main reservoir where there is a great view over the Tay estuary to Fife and Tentsmuir forest and sands. We had our packed lunch here before walking round.
