This 179-acre nature reserve features a variety of habitats, including woodland, grassland, and wetlands, which support a diverse range of flora and fauna. The reserve is home to several walking trails, including the 1.5-mile Moor Copse Trail, which takes visitors through the woodland and offers scenic views of the surrounding countryside. The trails are dotted with information boards and sculptures, providing insight into the reserve's history, geology, and wildlife. Moor Copse is a haven for birdwatchers, with over 40 species of birds recorded, including the tawny owl, green woodpecker, and sparrowhawk. The reserve is also home to a variety of mammals, including badgers, foxes, and deer, as well as a range of insects, including butterflies and dragonflies.
Really lovely nature reserve featuring seasonally wet-woodland, coppice and hay meadows with the river Pang running through it. Good access for walkers via footpaths but, although wheelchairs can access some of it easily, parts of the riverbank path would be difficult.
Very boggy walk today with Cookie .. next time I'll wear wellies! Beautiful meadows separated by livestock gates were great fun for the dog while I took the longer trek around to try keep dry.
Lovely secluded place. Clearly known & used by locals but still a beautiful walk by the River Pang and listen to the bird song. Once your away from the roads you get some peaceful areas. Lots of birds & butterflies to see. Will be lovely when the bluebells are out. Some paths closed due to tree works to remice Ash trees suffering with die back
Nice and easy walk; lots of shade through the woods and the proximity of the river Pang make it a favourite destination for dog walks in the heat of summer. The paths can get a bit muddy in winter. Be aware that the small car park is a favourite meeting place for outdoor activities of a different kind.
Very nice for an afternoon walk with the dog, quiet and peaceful.
Not the best walk I've ever taken the dog on. Pretty poorly sign posted and we got turned around a couple of times. It also gets incredibly muddy. Finally, there are a lot of signs saying to keep dogs on leads. So if you have a dog, not great, if you have a pushchair, not great. If you're just going on a walk, it's pretty good.
