This nature reserve is a tranquil oasis nestled in the rolling hills of Carmarthenshire, Wales. The reserve's 65 hectares of woodland, wetland, and grassland provide a habitat for a diverse range of wildlife, including otters, water voles, and birds such as kingfishers and lapwings. A network of walking trails, including the River Cothi, allows visitors to explore the reserve's natural beauty, which is particularly stunning during the spring and summer months when the wildflowers are in bloom. The reserve's varied landscape also features several ponds, a lake, and a stretch of the River Cothi, which flows gently through the heart of the reserve.
Great walk, we only did a short out and back as the sun was setting. Very peaceful, nobody else around. Free parking although there is a height barrier. Room or 1 or 2 larger vehicles just outside car park.
Great place to park for either a walk along the coast, or a walk through the village up to the falls, which is what we did. Just fyi. Falls & back is exactly 6 miles.
Fyi 1.8m (it is actually probably just over 1.9 as I could walk under it) height barrier. Very beautiful area
Cracking visit, a bit went the day we went with the dog, but the variety of sea birds were just amazing. The little bridge over the fast flowing river emptying into the sea was stunning
Love our walks to Aber, nice to see all the ducks and a couple of geese
Great area to walk the dog has a bit of litter but not to much of a problem loved to rock pool there
Wheelchair-accessible car park
Hiking
Picnic tables
Good for kids
Kid-friendly hikes
Dogs allowed
