This 300-hectare country park features lakes & nature trails for walking, horses & cycling.
Great place for spending time with family. A few ponds inside the park. Lots of birds. We used to take some food for bird feeding. Can park the car inside the park. Free parking.
One of my favourite parks in Bolton area with a good size playground for kids and diverse areas to walk. This place needs a cafeteria and a public toilet.
I didn't explore it fully but what I did see the country park is nice. I went on a day after heave rain during the night so was quite muddy. Parking is OK within the park and there is parking available on roads outside of the park. Three small lakes and a river that runs through. Ice cream van on site, not the cheapest but definetly not the dearest. He takes cards and cash. I can imagine that the park gets VERY busy in the summer.
Always a beautiful place to walk. Nice to take a little food for the birds. (Ideally not bread). Lots of picnic areas. A large play area for children. A fishing lodge. Public toilets.
This was the state of the river two weeks ago, and it's still there! The council needs to put up some sort of barrier further up the river, so when the campsite dumps its rubbish, it'll cause their campsite to flood. They may think twice before simply dumping in the river constantly. It's a terrible shame how filthy this park has become, I love everyone who goes there. I take my dogs regularly and smiles with a cheery 'hello' from other comes in an abundance, and you regularly see litter pickers. But the dumping in the river has to be tackled.
Qi Gong (Tai Chi) in the park. The weather has been beautiful and the rain today held off just for our class! Book your free class now: https://rockhall1807.co.uk/events
