Located in the Peak District National Park, Moss Force Waterfall is a picturesque waterfall situated in a secluded valley near the village of Malham, North Yorkshire. The waterfall drops approximately 10 feet over a rocky ledge, creating a misty veil that surrounds the area. The tranquil atmosphere and lush green surroundings make it a popular spot for hikers and nature lovers.
Lovely place! Highly recommend visiting if you're into natural water features! Just bear in mind that the roads are tricky, tight and at times, quite steep! Definitely keep a thick layer and a waterproof layer on hand, it can be very misty/wet! I recommend boots with ankle support and plenty of grip! (I used Air Forces since it was a last minute choice to go, the struggle was real)
Lovely walk like everywhere around the Lake District. This is very easy walk depends which route you take. Our route took around 1 hour to the lake and back to the parking. Beautiful scenery and highly recommended for those who like to walk by the water stream.
Spectacular landscape! A great stopover on-route to Buttermere lake. The scenery along the way there is equally fantastic, but abit treacherous and narrow. Lots of sheeps hanging out in the area which made for interesting photo opportunities. Proper hiking boots is highly recommended.
Interesting road to get there, especially in a big van but so so worth it! The views are amazing and the waterfall is epic! It's worth every minute of driving!
Beautiful view point on the valley with parking for 10-15 vehicles, just on the way to Buttermere Lake. The road to the latter was actually closed on the Bank Holiday weekend (August 2024).
Incredible place. So easy to get to. There's car parking. It's free and within 10 minutes you can be at the base of this waterfall.. there's a short walk further to go more up to the top of the waterfall. Highly recommend this as the views are spectacular. Also gives you access to plenty of other walks including to the top of Robinson which I highly recommend. Please be aware the driving along newlands Road can be quite treacherous in parts especially in bad weather. Do not come along here in a motorhome. You will not enjoy the experience.
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
