A secluded cove surrounded by towering cliffs and lush greenery, Mothecombe beach is a tranquil haven on the south coast of England. The beach's soft, golden sand stretches for approximately 1 mile, meeting the gentle lapping of turquoise waters at its shoreline. As the tide recedes, it reveals a vast expanse of flat sand, perfect for sunbathing, beachcombing, or simply enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. The surrounding cliffs, covered in wildflowers and gorse, add a picturesque backdrop to this idyllic beach, which remains relatively untouched by tourism, preserving its natural beauty.
Beautiful beach, very clean and easy to access. Parking a little expensive but if you're spending all day at the beach it's no so bad. Toilets would be a good addition but understand there isn't always the scope for this to be built in a parking field.
All in one place: beautiful beach to swim and paddle, greener forest to walk, quiet place-good for peace of mind and to appreciate life!
Wonderful! Tide was out which allowed us to walk up the estuary. Fabulous place for dog walk. The Schoolhouse has great coffee and cake.
No toilets on or near the beach. Not ideal for someone with disabilities. The carpark is a walk away which is manageable but the lack of toilets nearby is not good. For an estate with an expensive car park, the facilities on the beach should be better.
Glorious day on Mothecombe beach. As others have said PS5 to park in field, but lots of space. 5-10 min walk from car park to beach and it is pretty steep but no steps. No facilities on the beach, so stop first at the School House by the car park or take your own with you. Lovely sandy beach when the tide is out, shallow water made it brilliant for my sons first real swim in the sea. Lots of people paddleboarding, great atmosphere, not packed but busy.
Absolutely stunning beach, lovely fine sand, clear water. Great for kids and water sports. Rocks and a pillbox to explore. A short 5 minute walk down a gentle slope on a decent path. Parking PS6 all day, bargain.
