Absolutely incredible couple of hours on the water with Mike at Lochcarron. We were a mixed group from a 6 year old to grandma and all loved it! The equipment was top quality and made us all feel super safe. Mike's briefing and skills session on land meant were all felt confident on the water. The scenery was fantastic. We are looking forward to coming back for more! An unmissable adventure!
A great experience for all ages and a fabulous way to see the local wildlife. We now have new skills on a kayak and memories of a great day out thanks to the stunning photos our guide, Mike captured. Highly recommend. Thank you
5 day Inner Sound kayak experience Myself and a friend have just completed this epic trip with Mike from Mountain and Sea Guides. Booking the trip was a great experience with Lyndsey answering all our questions prior to the trip. Mike's experience at what he does was clear as soon as we arrived. The training prior to the trip was well focused. The trip was amazing. During the trip we saw fantastic wildlife including sea eagles, multiple large seal colonys an otter and a large Loch dwelling jellyfish as well as seeing this area of the Highlands from a unique perspective. Mike's camp food was a highlight and he catered excellently for vegan and vegetarian diets. An amazing experience....... Many Thanks Nick and Mark
I wish I could give them even more stars! I've never been comfortable on the water and was pretty nervous about going out on the loch. Mike's gentle but clear tuition and the professional set up meant I actually got out on the water - and loved every minute. I used to be utterly phobic about water but this was the most comfortable I've been on the water in over 20 years. The scenery was amazing and I cannot recommend this highly enough. Watching my teenager who's never had tuition before shoot off across the loch and not have my heart in my mouth was amazing. He loved every minute of it and wants to go back every day while we are in Applecross. Their location in Loch Carron is easy to get to from Applecross (as they've moved) although I don't think I fancy the pass in fog! My bucket list is now including a canoe camping trip with these guys!
We had a great half day introduction to sea kayaking with Mike, enjoyed seeing the seals and seal pups. Mike ensured we were well set up and taught some basic skills before we set off. Good emphasis on safety. Would definitely recommend this (4 adults, age 24-57)
I really enjoyed exploring the coastline and remoteness of loch hourn over four days. Such a magical part of Scotland! It was great to benefit from Mike's vast experience and coaching skills- I learnt loads about good paddling technique and planning routes to suit tides and weather, as well as expedition craft, all without feeling like it was a skills session. Just a lovely journey with the perfect level of challenge (and really great equipment). We saw so much amazing wildlife, from porpoises and baby seals to otters and seabirds.
Getting tickets in advance recommended
Good for kids
