This 13.5-hectare nature reserve features a mix of wildflower-rich meadows, woodland, and wetland habitats, providing a haven for local wildlife. A network of footpaths and boardwalks allows visitors to explore the area, taking in the sights and sounds of nature. The meadows are particularly notable for their vibrant displays of flowers, including orchids, cowslips, and oxeye daisies, which attract a variety of butterflies and bees. The reserve is also home to a variety of bird species, including skylarks, meadow pipits, and reed buntings.
Always walk the dog around the meadows. Plenty of walks. Does flood after heavy rain. It's a little dodgy later on in the evening, but I think that's the council for not fixing lights.
This place is so beautiful, it is a great place to walk the dog, there is lots to see and the views are great, there are some off lead bits and bit I would keep him on lead, just so he doesn't scare the wildlife. It can get very muddy here so after a visit you will need to wash your dog to get any mud from between there pads as this can course foot rot. Every time I've been it has been clean and tidy with no rubbish left any where, having gone quite a few times now I can say I would definitely recommend this place for a dog walk or just a walk to get some fresh air.
A favourite area for a quiet walk
Well managed area, easy to spot Swans and Herons, also an elevated hide for serious twitchers. Unfortunately only marred by the continuous drone of the nearby A6
Lovely place for a quiet walk - just ignore the A6 running alongside.
You can always take a brisk walk through this natural scenery and beauty. Very silent and refreshing.
Good for kids
