A picturesque quay on the River Frome in Dorset, featuring a charming mix of old and new buildings, including historic warehouses, modern apartments, and bustling cafes and restaurants. Visitors can stroll along the quay, admire the boats moored in the river, and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere.
I recently took my children crab hunting at Mudiford, and it was an unforgettable experience for all of us! The location is perfect for families, with safe, shallow waters that are ideal for kids to explore. We spent hours searching for crabs, and the excitement on my children's faces each time they found one was priceless. The area is well-maintained and clean, with plenty of spots to set up and enjoy the day. We found all the equipment we needed at nearby shops, and the locals were friendly and helpful, offering tips to make our hunt more successful. The combination of the beautiful scenery and the joy of crab hunting made for a wonderful family outing. I highly recommend Mudiford to anyone looking for a fun and engaging activity to do with their children. We'll definitely be back for more adventures!
Nice beach, very simple with crabbing, sandy beach and watersports. Some decent places to eat also. Very little in the way of retail but a good place to come for a simpler british seaside excursion.
A secluded stretch of pebble and sandy beach with crabbing and refreshments available. Parking is plentiful if arriving early. There are watersports and boat trips available. The beach is clean with decent facilities. Away from the beach there are good quality, if pricey, restaurants but not much else.
We went during the bank holiday and it was really crowded. It was a beautiful walk along the beach watching people fishing crabs and boats and water activities everywhere. It has a fish shop, cafe, pub and plenty of space to walk around.
We walked from hiker cafe to Mudeford Quay, nice walk took about 20mins. It was quite busy here but managed to get a snack at one of the food places. Plenty of toilets on route and nice beach.
We love Mudeford my parents brought me when I was a kid 40 years plus ago and my kids love coming. The crabbing, the food, Avon Beach dreams of owning one of the luxury lodges or a beach hut over the water at Hengistbury head the beautiful beach it's like being in another country.
