The way to walk from the parking space down to the lighthouse is really steep down. We needed with a relaxed walk 45 minutes down. The views which you will have after each corner are awesome. The lighthouse itself is blocked by a gate. Not sure why. Everyone is just climbing over the gate. The lighthouse itself is a small lighthouse. Nice to view with some binoculars the sea and rest with some food. (Attention! No opportunity to dispose your stuff!!! So take your litter home!!!!). The way back will fear you a little bit because it's really, really steep. Anyhow... We made it in 40 minutes. So it's possible and the street is very good and with a perfect new surface. Easy to walk.

After a quite difficult drive in the fog we arrived at the end of the public road, parked our car and walked down to the Mull of Kintyre Lighthouse. A very well maintained but super steep road, closed to general traffic. The views were beautiful and the mist was rolling in from the sea is just like the song! On the left hand side of the hill there is a memorial cairn in memory of the 29 people who died in the helicopter crash on the Mull of Kintyre.

Stunning and well worth the walk down and up. It is steep but on a cool February day its not to bad. Lovely views over to Northern Ireland and the coast. Leave nothing but memories.

Go for a daring spin high above the sea. Spey for Ireland with the Rathlin islands & county Anthrim. Pay a visit to the lighthouse on Mull. Whatever you do - don't miss our sunsets! Note, the lighthouse is a B&B and not open for drop ins. But visitors are welcome within boundaries. So please respect them and don't jump gates/fences close to the B&B. Use common sense and stay out of the steep areas - a fall here can be life threatening. The climb of the road is said to be 70%. And a walk one way is 3km. Have a blast!

Views are stunning and you can walk right round the lighthouse and see the rocks below. If there is no one else about it is dealthy silent on a clear day with no winds. Proper magical. So.... the car park at the top is the last driving point. It's all on foot from there. Going down can be a big exhausting, but coming back up in the baking heat is insane. Very much replaced any gym work out I had planned for the next day. Take plenty of water and sunscreen if it's a roasting day. That said it's totally worth it.
