This is a great school trip! I've been here previously for the Roman Fortress part, but this time, the Viking Village. It's great. The actors are brilliant with the kids, it's really informative and fun. They made clay lamps, bread and played viking games, then took turns on guard duty. Very similar to the Roman experience activities. Kids LOVE it, definitely visit here!
Lovely place to come with childrens. Plenty of things to see and do. Animals, trail to walk ,well equipped playground with sand pit and muddy kitchen. Picnic area cafe -which is usally busy but has some alllergen free food they able to provide. Friendly staff . Indoor play areas ,small tractors to ride on. Fairly clean toilets. Concession price with free carer entry (PS12 for a year) I do recommend this place
Entrance. Impressive. Car park. Full Tractors and machinery, awesome. Trains. Also good. Animals, present but muddy in a box Nature trial = field of tyres Roman fort = sheds painted white Viking village = people with towels on their head There was also a little jolly lady behind a fence telling us the Roman fort 'is well worth it' this was false Overall, I like machinery and I assume the owner does too. And that's where it should stay
We (two seniors) found the Farming museum very interesting, especially the section about the Ladies Army. We were not allowed into all the areas of the park, as there were active classes with school children in these areas. Nonetheless we enjoyed our stay immensely. The cafe was unexpectedly good and the staff was most friendly.
Great day out. Happened to go on the day when the train was running. Lovely nostalgia trip. Granddaughters loved it. Something for everyone. Staff (volunteers?) were so friendly and made it a most enjoyable day. Will definitely be visiting again soon
Fantastic day out including a train ride, cowboy show, dark ages village and farm experience. Also great we can return for free for a whole year. Only slight issue was parking as carpark was very small and badly designed. Maybe just a busy day but for a park of this size (which wasn't seemingly crowded once in) this could be vastly improved. Will look forward to going again though, just hoping for a parking space!
