Had a lovely morning in this museum. The guide was very knowledgeable and the staff/volunteers were so friendly. We will definitely be back again for a small museum there is so much to see.
What a fabulous little museum packed full of local history! Well laid out and full of interesting exhibits. We were very pleasantly surprised. Lovely reception when we arrived, by Philip, who has a wealth of knowledge very kindly gave us a fabulous tour. He patiently waited whilst I translated and made the museum pieces come to life with his descriptive stories. Well worth a visit! I would highly recommend it!!!!
Small but beautifully formed town museum. The Iceni coin is amazing with exhibits from 500,000 years ago to the millennium! Well worth a visit.
I went here on a Thursday morning and I had a lovely time listening and learning about Watton history. I learnt about "Aldreda the free woman" who used to be the major landholder in Watton, about the train station that once was near Loch Neaton, about "The great fire in Watton", about the "Babes in the Woods", all the way to the war times and recent discoveries. I will definitely return for in more depth research. It is a beautiful hidden gem of Watton.
This is quite a small museum but it is nevertheless a fascinating place. There is a diverse range of artefacts and exhibits from local, civic and military history through to the early bronze age and excavated implements from the Roman era. An incredibly helpful and knowledgeable member of staff kindly offered to accompany us and gave us a guided tour. The museum is in 3 rooms, 2 of which are up a flight of stairs but there is a stair lift for anyone who needs assistance. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Took a picture of my late grandfather in his WW1 uniform for them to keep, they were very grateful
