Striking modern purposebuilt building opened in 2011, with interactive displays on city's heritage,
I love museums and outside of London this is one of my favourites. Lots of Liverpool history, lots to see and some hands on stuff too. The building is big and spacious and very modern looking. The exhibits are well cared for and arranged with care. It's free to enter but they do ask for a voluntary PS5 if you can.
We only stopped in for an hour we had free but loved seeing some of the history of the docks around us. The museum does a great job of bringing it to life with the large artefacts and stories from local people. You could definitely spend hours here and we'll absolutely be back!
Very interesting place to visit for a couple of hours, history of the docks and the railway's, history of celebrities and pop and film culture lots of interactive features for children's amusement. Lovely glass fronted light airy building with views over the city and docks very modern feel high ceilings. Cafe good food and drinks! Decent cup of tea !
Excellent museum, interactive, ideal for kids and adults, helps you get a good picture of the city's history and highlights in the most pleasant way. Brilliant! The shop and the cafe are also great.
It's a great museum lots of things to see. It gets updated regularly so you can keep going without loosing the novelty of going. It's a great place for the kids to go. It's got clean toilets and disabled access to basically everything.
The museum is great. Theres a children's area with water play, lots of things to touch and do. The staff are very friendly and understanding of children with additional needs. Other parts of the museum our kids found really interesting. There needs to be a few more toy trains on the wooden track area as 2 didn't go very far Great views from the place too! There was a fun karaoke room which we had a right laugh in. Took a picnic and sat in a quiet area. I didn't think much to the staff on strike outside standing in our way telling us not to go in repeatedly and following us right to the door when it was obvious we had a child with us that had special needs and was nervous of the noise and new people. I thought that was out of order. (Although I understand why they were striking I think it's important to consider your audience and their needs) Good day out though, lots to do inside
