The Museum of Norfolk Life is a museum located in Norwich, Norfolk, UK, showcasing the history and culture of Norfolk. The museum is housed in a 13th-century Augustinian friary, featuring exhibits that explore the county's rich history, from prehistoric times to the present day. The museum's collection includes artifacts, photographs, and interactive displays that highlight Norfolk's agricultural heritage, its role in the English Civil War, and its significance in the Industrial Revolution. Visitors can also explore the museum's gardens, which feature a recreated medieval herb garden and a sensory garden.
I have no complaints about the museum as I've been here lots of times there is lots to see and do around the place. There is a great play area for the younger children and of course you have the farm to look around. The issue I have and the reason why I gave it 3* is the price of entry for a family. If you have a museum pass then you get in for free. However, without that pass you're looking at over PS60 for a family that has 3 adults and a teenager. At that price it was ridiculous and thankfully the weekend we visited it was the national lottery get in for free weekend. Otherwise we'd have walked away and visited somewhere else. I appreciate that places need to make money to cover their costs. But at what expense? PS35 would have been reasonable.
Surprisingly good, the more you looked the better it got. Well laid out, well conceived with informative staff.
A School visit not to be missed. Key Stage 2 children had an immersive Victorian Workhouse day. Hands on experience with Actors bringing the whole day to life. Simply brilliant.
Brilliant day out loads to see and do
