Wonderful quiet walking spot where you can enjoy nature and walk along the river shore with the dog and relax in the peaceful countryside away from the noise of traffic. Great for some bird spotting or sitting and watching the boats on the water. Added bonus is that parking is free! There are 3 small parking bays but the road is gated and shuts at 8pm.
Free to park... beautiful scenery.... we walked to the Ship Pub..... lovely staff. We had drinks and nibbles. Dog friendly. We will be doing a walk and pub again.. this time we will order food!
Lovely walk along the water, going through the (old) oak woods, a boardwalk through the reed lands and returning through woods containing mainly ash trees. And, if you'd like, a nice stop halfway at The Ship (Inn)
