I was incarcerated here, ( before it was converted from a mental hospital) in 1966 till 1968, following a mental breakdown caused by attempting to commit suicide while under the effect of LSD....,..
Jade received us with lots of comforting knowledge knowing her brand exceptionally well. Answered all our questions with knowing confidence, so much so, 15 mins later we bought a large Squisharoo Sofa in deep velvet clever fabric.. excellent and none pushy staff, respectful and very helpful
Amazing walks in nature
Listed park and arboretum grounds of former mental hospital that is now luxury housing in the main. Nice walks on pathways through and around the trees and historic listed buildings. Sports fields, tennis courts, etc managed by the Parish Council, rest of grounds excellently maintained by Napsbury Park Residents Association
Lovely area, it's nice the way the old hospital buildings have been incorporated into the estate, giving it more appeal than nearby Shenley. I would be fascinated to find out why so many institutional hospitals, Napsbury, Shenley, Harperbury and Leavesden were in such a relatively small geographical area.
Very quiet, well to do residential area but open to surrounding grounds so not too secure in that respect.
Wheelchair-accessible car park
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
