A medieval fortress situated on a small island in the River Ure, surrounded by a moat and featuring a unique blend of 12th-century architecture and 19th-century Gothic Revival styling.
We visited Narrow Water Keep during a road trip centered around the conflict in Northern Ireland. Now a tranquil and beautiful place. The Keep is accessible on all levels expect for the top, which was a bit unfortunate.
Nice Castle & is free to enter to the public
Good craic with the lads until the foreigners showed up of course. The castle itself is a great little hideaway off of the main road (iykyk) I wonder what happened to the gatehouse
Passing on the way to The Mourne Mountains and took a few snaps of the Castle Tower from outside. There was no access so presume it was closed today. Intersting bit of local history.
Very rarely open so took advantage of this opportunity. Well worth a look around all 3 floors. Pity the roof turret was closed.
Beautiful place even though its on a busy main road. We managed to get some half decent shots of the Keep. Love the forest across the road where we were able to walk and see the Bluebells.
Good for kids
