The National Trust is a conservation organisation that protects historic sites and green spaces in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. It was founded in 1895 and has since become one of the largest conservation organisations in the UK. The trust looks after over 250,000 hectares of land, including coastlines, forests, and countryside, as well as historic houses, castles, and monuments. It also cares for over 500 historic buildings, including stately homes, churches, and industrial sites. The trust's work is focused on preserving the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the UK for future generations to enjoy.
A Disappointing Return to a Once-Beloved Attraction Six years ago, I shared a magical experience here with my niece. Today, I returned with my son, only to find our cherished memories tarnished by shortsighted changes. In a misguided attempt to promote bluebells, the naturists have obliterated pathways and, more alarmingly, eradicated beloved children's attractions. Gone are the whimsical delights that once captivated young minds: Peter Rabbit's Post Office, Squirrel's Swing, and Hedgehog Home have all vanished. These were not mere amusements, but gateways to imagination and nature appreciation for countless children. While the preservation of bluebells is undoubtedly important, it should not come at the cost of engaging future generations. The decision-makers behind these changes must recognize that fostering a love for nature in children is crucial for long-term conservation efforts. I implore the management to reconsider their approach. By balancing ecological concerns with educational opportunities, they can create an environment that both protects native flora and inspires tomorrow's environmental stewards. The future of our natural world depends on nurturing this connection between children and nature - a connection that has been severed here, much to our dismay.
Couldn't see any attractions. Only the Owls House. No guided route available and the location is just a normal dog walkers park with mess everywhere.
Tired, dilapidated , in need of maintenance and investment. When the four year olds your with find Peter rabbit with both ears missing and ask to go home to play on the trampoline. Embarrassing place.
Lovely area for a walk and fun - for children 2-10 years old. You can spend here 2-3 hours.
