Classic 17th-century English house with opulent decor, fine furnishings and gardens. Dogs on leads.
Becoming members of The National Trust has really allowed us to visit these truly wonderful places. Belton Estate is really wonderful. It's vast grounds offer up a great walk, lots of wildlife and picturesque gardens. The house itself is absolutely stunning. It's artworks and tapestries really are inspiring. A great summer's day out for the whole family.
What a wonderful place to visit! We diverted off our route to visit Belton. There was lots going on, and the adventure play area and miniature railway was a hit with the kids. We had a good look round the house and then out to the gardens (as well as a cheeky stop to get some ice creams - loads of flavours available!). We ended our visit with some of the activities that they had outside the house. We had a fabulous time, and would recommend a visit to Belton Estate, particularly if the weather is good!!
We spent a lively Sunday in the place. The parkland is vast, with lovely wildlife areas. The playground is the biggest one I have seen in National Trust locations. During the summer there also is an activity area for kids. There is enough place and happennjngs to spend a wonderful active day with the family outdoors.
Recommend visiting! It was a great experience and everyone enjoyed themselves. Belton house was lovely and had many old artefacts, paintings, books and other house items. The library was full of old books and was an interesting place to visit. Nearly all the volunteers were friendly. The actual house was very well designed and well maintained for how old it is. The gardens were also very pretty and well kept. The conservatory/ orangery was beautiful and had many different types of plants and flowers. They had plenty of land for the children to run around and families to have picnics. The playground was one of the best I'd seen in nearly all national trust parks and there was also a mini train going around the park for children. The deers were also close enough to look at. It was a good visit.
First time visit and wasn't disappointed. Absolutely stunning house and gardens with plenty of walks and stunning views. There is also a large play area for the kids. The staff are very polite and helpful.
Belton Estate is a truly remarkable and exceptional location. Its extensive grounds provide an ideal setting for leisurely strolls, wildlife observation, and the exploration of picturesque gardens. The architectural magnificence of the house is awe-inspiring, featuring an impressive collection of artworks and tapestries that serve as a source of inspiration and admiration. Belton Estate offers an exceptional experience for individuals and families seeking a memorable and enriching day out.
