This is the starting point for discovering spectacular coastal walks between Salcombe and Hope Cove. A level and surfaced circular trail through the downs offers easy access to sea views and wild flowers carpeting the cliffs. For something more challenging, you can follow the coast path east towards Salcombe, past East Soar and Overbeck's. Discover the remote sandy beach at Soar Mill Cove less than a mile from the car park, or head west to Bolt Tail and you'll cross the ramparts of an Iron Age fort. Livestock may be grazing in these areas, please keep dogs on a lead. If animals become curious and approach: - Stay calm and do not run. - Avoid getting between cows and calves. - If walking with a dog let go of its lead.
Good walk, short option has beautiful views, and not very hilly. Didn't manage to do the whole ling walk as the rain was biting down, but what we did do was brilliant. Bumped into georgous cows, and the outdoor picnic area was perfect. Would come back in better weather.
Great place for walking and a picnic, great views, NT car park, very narrow lanes to get there so drive slowly and carefully. Good camp sites, restaurants and even a Coop in the locality. Great place to hold a park run too!
Very amazing coastal walk, good accessible parking and a small amount of the footpath is wheelchair and pushchair friendly. There are plenty of opportunities to take a seat and enjoy the views. Only downside I haven't found a toilet yet! Although there may be one available in the nearby restaurant but I didn't visit that so can't comment, So bear that in mind.
This place has stunning views of the South Devon coastline, along with some nice walks along the cliff tops and down to the beautiful Soar Mill Cove, where there were a few swimmers. There are plenty of Rock Pipits at the cove, and we also saw a few Wheatears, loads of Stonechat and a Peregrine Falcon flying along the cliffs.
One of the few places on this coast with level access. Well surfaced paths too. Great views.
Car park tucked away with plenty of room and we were practically the only car. PS3 all day. We used this as the launch point to walk to Soar Mill Cove just a mile away
