This 15th-century fortified manor house features a picturesque courtyard, charming gardens, and a collection of antique furniture and artifacts. The property also includes a working mill, a walled garden, and a lakeside walk.
Great little hamlet to wander around. There was a cute little iron work shop selling bespoke items. The gentleman was lovely and you could watch him make pieces. There is an information area with maps showing you what's around. The cafe was open but not the waterwheel yet. There is a bus route, public toilets and carpark down by the beach (3/4 mile away)
Obviously a pretty village but sadly closed and asleep for our visit on Friday 3rd November 2023. The forge was open and a very nice pub up the road but otherwise nothing.
Just the cutest place! Parking available at the village hall for a donation in the well next to the forge. Nice flat easy walk to the beach where there is then a cafe. Beach is pebbles and dog friendly but not ideal for dogs with the pebbles as they are. The village is just beautiful and its lovely to see the forge. Sadly the tea room was closed but I loved the thatched houses. Highly recommend!!
Pretty village with the forge blacksmith to visit + the Bakehouse for tea and cakes. Level walk to the beach. Not much parking in the village NT car park very small + Village Hall car park donations.
Truly lovely village, excellent forge and tearoom. The blacksmith's work is really high quality stuff at sensible prices. Be prepared for aching legs if you walk the cliff paths but they are super.
Not a easy place to drive to. When there cafe has excellent cakes and cream teas. The forge has plenty of items for sale. The mill is interesting with guided tours. Bit of a miserable day when we went but on a sunny day would be more enjoyable.
