The distinctive headland of Cape Cornwall juts out into the ocean where two great bodies of water meet. Once a heavily industrialised landscape, it is now part of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site, and a wild and rugged home to many seabirds which nest on the Brisons rocks.
This is a hidden gem from National Trust. The place provides stunning views of the sea. We took the coastal walk towards south and had best time on a quiet beach. The views from National Coast watch lookout are fantastic and it takes just 5 minutes walk from the National Trust Car park. The shop located in this car park serves great food and hot drinks. We will visit again!
A beautifully unspoilt piece of headland with a short circular walk around it. There's a coastal lookout cabin halfway round and a little snack/drinks stall in the car park plus toilets. Please note that there are no indoor facilities for eating or drinking. We saw a seal several times while we were there and the whole place is hugely more charming than the hideous Land's End tourist trap round the corner.
A few coastal paths here. On a good day really nice sea view but also always very windy. You can visit the small house on a cliff where there is a coast watch where volunteers help to spot weather events and warn boats. Car park can get. full so come here early during peak season
The National Trust gravel car park is free for members, and has quite a bit of open parking. It's a 5-10 minute walk up to the higher cape viewpoint, which offers both a faster steeper incline or slower path. There are also longer walks along the coastal path that can start from here. In the car park are decent toilets, a takeaway cafe kiosk, map of the area, and good views of the coast.
We decided to take advantage of our National Trust membership to park the car and take a walk. Great place to take pictures. There is a route to the top, but it is only suitable for the fit as there are no support rails in parts
Fantastic views but a dodgy car park if you're on a motorcycle because of the steep slope and loose gravel surface. Still worth it for the views. Much better than lands end if you don't want all the tourist rubbish.
On-site services
Wheelchair-accessible car park
