Thomas Telford-designed, Gothic-style 1800s bridge with a pedestrian path, tollhouse & garden.
The Conwy Suspension Bridge, one of the first road suspension bridges in the world, offers a captivating glimpse into 19th-century engineering. Nestled next to the majestic Conwy Castle, this elegant structure, designed by Thomas Telford and completed in 1826, seamlessly blends history with stunning scenery. Walking across the bridge, visitors are treated to panoramic views of the estuary and the historic town of Conwy. This charming and picturesque bridge is a must-visit for anyone interested in industrial history and those seeking a tranquil and scenic experience.
Not much by itself, but make a day of it with the castle, Plas Mawr, the marine walk, the town walls, smallest house in Britain and you've got a full day out. Worth a visit.
Conwy and Conwy Castle are amazing, possible to walk near all the walls on the top for free just need to find stairs and enjoy with amazing views, near the harbour you will find fresh seafood, parking near the Castle is PS4.5 for all day (offseason), better come early 8-10 am because quite crowded
This had always been my target of interest for our stay in Conwy, which was a part of a minibus tour for the day. Thankfully our drop-off point was close (by the tourist information centre) and I had plenty time to see the bridge. It didn't matter that, apart from the bridge, I only had time to see the path between it and the drop-off point. It worked out very well for me.
From the castle it has a very nice view
No information available, it was just a normal suspension bridge. You didn't know if it was open or not until you wandered down the street to see the random open gate. It just looks like a normal bridge... I am well aware it is a feat of engineering which is great... but I'd definitely benefit from atleast an information board to let me know more about it.
