A grand Parkland abundant in wildlife and with over 900 years of history Perfect for a walk or picnic, the tranquil, ancient parkland of Dunsland once befitted the grand house that stood in its midst. The park is home to a variety of trees, including 700-year-old Sweet Chestnuts and old fruit trees. Wander around the remaining buildings of Tudor Dunsland House. Everything apart from the old stable and coach house were lost in a fire in the 1960s. The trees in Dunsland park support many rare lichens and provide a rich habitat for wildlife. Colourful Blue Bells and Primroses can be seen in spring and you may hear the rustle of Doormice and Roe Deer. Look out for Dippers and Sparrow Hawks too.
Lovely but very short walk. Like going around a big garden. I thought we would see ruins of house but nothing left. Nice dog walk for half an hour. Writing on gates to say what had been there was nice touch. Tiny car park.
A quiet location for a great walk with some historical interest for the old farmhouse that burnt down with some remains of the building still visable
Not much to see but a lovely walk with the dog .
A magical place to roam and explore with kids and dogs. Such a shame the old rebuilt House burnt down, it looked beautiful. But what remains are vast open fields, old trees, bluebells, birds. A nature lovers paradise.
Lovely walk, you can imagine a grand old house, stunning spot.
Very nice but a pity that 2 female dog walkers let their muddy dogs jump up on my clean light coloured shorts and did not even apologise but wished me a nice day!!!! Hope audacious can you get!
