Brick-built Tudor house with 17th-century wall paintings, a timber attic and a walled garden.
Here for a Tudor cookery class, Lovely staff, well organised and all set in a delightful Tudor house, what's not to like? Great coffee as well!
What a gem this is!! Smack bang in the middle of a Dagenham housing estate. Very helpful friendly staff and nice Cafe.
Excellent visit to Eastbury Manor House which is right in the middle of a housing estate in Barking. Smaller than some of the other National Trust properties but interesting nonetheless. Tours are available and Sue, our guide was excellent and gave us a very detailed and interesting tour. She is very knowledgeable about the house and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour. There was a school party there too which was great. Volunteers dress up in the period costumes and there is a lot to see. Some rooms are being renovated so remain closed. The coffee shop is the best priced to date and very good value. Train to Barking then bus to Tudor Road. House is a few minutes walk from there.
Fabulous Elizabeth and house in Barking. 16th century building restored to its original looks. Excellent tour guide (free) explained the very interesting history of the building and its family history. Owned by the NT but run by the local council small cafe/restaurant on site and a lift for those unable to manage the multiple stairs.
Beautiful Manor House! Had a lovely time with my boyfriend visiting Eastbury Manor House. As a local, is great to be able to visit somewhere nice, not too far away from home. The cafe has really nice food and there are gluten free options (which is always very helpful for my boyfriend that has celiac disease) and the prices are reasonable. I know there is quite a lot of people that state there is not much to see in the reviews, however I disagree. If you take your time to read and actually look properly at what there is in the house, you will find yourself learning and appreciating the history which this house carries. In total we spent 2 hours in the house, including us sitting down in the cafe eating and drinking. All the staff members that we came across were really kind and friendly. Especially, the man that was at the reception. There is also various activities for children to do inside the house, which is great for families who want to visit.
Beautiful, historic old house. Friendly helpful staff and a lovely cream tea for a fiver. Highly recommended
