Massive 18th-century manor offering tours of the family house & its ornate 12,000-acre garden.
Absolutely wonderful experience. Fantastic inside and out, massive gardens and very knowledgeable guides inside the manor. Very thankful to the ladies who shared amazing facts about the house, the process of creating it, history of servants and their handmade pieces, the ceilings and interiors. It was a wonderful experience and I would recommend it to everyone especially in spring summer when the flowers are in bloom!
Beautiful atmosphere, specially on a sunny day. Well maintained historical house with an amazing garden. Good to visit with kids and spend a day. Lots of places to idle in the garden. Nice cafe with an ice cream corner in the terrace.
Such an amazing place to visit. Fabulous walks through well manicured gardens, the woods or even around the house. Such history, the room attendants are extremely knowledgeable and oose the history, sharing facts and happy to answer any questions. Great Parlour, restaurant and shop. The gardens have great accessibility but there are stairs in the house.
I really loved this place. A beautiful rustic feeling stately home with some lovely examples of historic road transport (carts, carriages, bikes, early motor cars). Beautiful interior and outbuildings, vast parkland. Lovely cows. They need more volunteers to allow the place to be fully open. I want to come back and explore more.
Lovely family estate with an eclectic mix of everyday life Museum pieces. The house, garden and grounds are well worth a days visit!
One of my favourite national trust places! The grounds are beautiful, not to mention the house! Its really interesting to look around. I loved how the play area is all made out of wood. Will visit again!
