Stand-alone hill topped by a landmark 15th-century tower, with views over 3 counties and Wales.
Excellent views from the Tor, it is in a very particular hill. Walking to it is not difficult but you have to put some effort. We have a splendid time upthere.
It is an absolutely spectacular gem of a place. It's a 500ft elevation climp to the top along, mostly concrete steps. The tower can be seen from miles away and is something to behold once close. There are 360 degree views from the hill top that won't disappoint on a beautiful day.
We visited this beautiful monument and to see the panoramic scenery over the counties below. The hill looks steep but when you get up the hill, it's not that bad. Suitable for all ages
If you visit glastonbury this is a must jist for the views , theres a bus from the main car park right next to the abbey , cost is 4.50 pounds return , there are no car parking spaces here apart from 2 disabled spaces and they were both taken when i was there , there are 2 ways to.climb ,steps and pathway , i took steps harder but quicker reached top in 5 mins , pathway is longer but more gentle , once you reach top its an amazing view well worth the effort ,it was very busy at top this day i went , but a lot of people bought blankets to eat on the grass , just to sit and see in everydirection for 10 +miles is worth the effort to get to top,
Well worth the climb to the top as you can imagine the views were incredible and luckily we had good weather so could see for miles around in all directions . Remember to bring a drink with you great place for a picnic and you have to be reasonably fit to get to the top it's not a climb it has steps but it is very steep. Also when we went to the top there were a group of naked people just sitting around chilling so just be prepared for this if you have children and also if you don't-each to their own .
Absolutely beautiful day you can see the festival site from the Tor. Great time to visit Glastonbury. Everyone is at the festival. Stayed at Isle of Avalon Touring Caravan Park. That is unusually quiet never seen it so quiet in all the times we've been here. Great atmosphere, friendly and very welcoming by all the Avalon people on site. My favourite place
