This hill offers stunning panoramic views of the Cheshire Plain and the Welsh Mountains, with a variety of flora and fauna to discover along its woodland trails and open grasslands.
Great views, bit windy.
If you park at Helsby Quarry and Nature reserve, it is a good steep walk to get the heart rate going. The walk itself is only about 1.5km but a lovely place to go and view the sunset and have a beer/picnic.
Beautiful little walk. You can see for miles once up at the top. There is plenty of trails leading up, even a scramble bit too. I think they even use this area for mountain climbing practice. All in all a great walk that you can spend hours doing..
Stunning and beautiful view from cliff side. Ideal picnic spot aswell. Could sit for hours just watching everything. Walking up we passed a beautiful home farm with horses, and into nearby forest.
Great view. Also a good workout. Using it for Training for my Brecons challenge. There are lots of walks across from here on the sandstone trail and into the hills at the back of frodsham.
You park up at the car park for Helsby quarry. Short walk up a steep hill gets you into wilderness to explore. Further up and you are at the top with views of Cheshire and beyond overlooking Helsby. On a clear day, outlines of Liverpool cathedrals and the Welsh hills can be seen. Serene atmosphere. There are no amenities around, so fetch your own refreshments. Enjoy it and try not to spoil it for others.
