National Trust-owned property with an ornate, domed rotunda and extensive art and silver collection.
Another beautiful, well looked after, national trust. The views of the gardens and the rotunda were breathtaking as you made your way to the gardens and building. We ate at the cafe for lunch which was very good, options were good, however most of the hot food stopped from 2.30pm so if you enjoy a late lunch you can only enjoy a sandwich. There was a lot of sheep in the grounds, which was beautiful to hear and see. You need to access these fields through gates - so if you're not fond of livestock, you can walk around the gardens freely. The rotunda was breathtaking, and the restoration on the building is so well done. It was beautiful to see where the building had been restored.
Lovely day out with the family, lots to see and do. The guides in the house were very knowledgeable and keen to share information with guest. The gardens were fantastic. The playground was really good but some elements out of action.
Fabulous house, silver room is amazing, and the chandelier in the dining room is just beautiful and sparkling. Interesting place to visit. Staff friendly and helpful. Walled gardens, interesting with all the tree stumps. Great choice of food and drinks in the cafe. Would highly recommend to others to visit.
Excellent NT property with a lovely house and extensive walks around the estate. I especially liked the pink loop down past the church around the small lake and back via the woods to the West Wing Cafe, for a well earned coffee and cake. Great for kids and next time I may bring my bike.
Great day out with family. The Ickworth Estate has a variety of activities when it comes to nature and history. The house is very impressive, full of amazing artifacts telling the stories of the past. The walks are huge. We just walked for couple hours (more unexplored walks there), and had this amazing feeling of greatness of the place. Very recommending for family day out or just relaxing day.
Visit to break up journey to Lowestoft. Arrived around 12.00 having brought picnic lunch with us. Found a lovely spot near the Rotunda for lunch. Visited main house and thoroughly enjoyed the interaction with the very knowledgeable volunteer guides. After around 3 hours we set off feeling very informed!! Great time could have stayed for another couple of hours
