Archaeological site featuring structural remnants & informational plaques, plus a small museum.
Hidden treasure. Lived in the area for 39 years and never visited. Gives great insight to the ancient history of the area. Book a free tour/talk to get an even better understanding.
Free little museum and remains of a Roman bath site. Interesting little trinkets in the museum, with some history and information. Staffed by volunteers who were very helpful. The remains of the Roman Baths are quite interesting. The little village is quiet so it's a nice place for a picnic or just somewhere to take the kids for an hour. There are a couple of short walks from the car park that take you in a circle. One is something like a mile long and the other two miles. Everything is free, but I would say worthy of a donation.
Walked from the Cathedral. Almost turned back but glad we didn't. Walking along the main road could have been a bit dangerous due to lack of footpaths. Shame the museum was closed on this particular day. Well preserved site though.
Great example of Roman sight, lots of information boards very interesting ruins with many outlines of the mansion, baths and street.
Stopped at Wall roman site on the way home, and glad we did. It's free to visit and staff on site were friendly and helpful. We looked at the artifacts that had been found on site inside the small museum. Then we walked around to see the roman ruins, there was lots of info around to explain what the rooms would have been used for.
The Roman ruins are free to enter. The museum was closed, open March to October, but the ruins are really peaceful and relaxing. If arriving by bus, be aware that it's situated about 1.2 miles from the Birmingham road so may be less suitable for younger visitors. This site is not wheelchair accessible.
