Park featuring a 17th-century ashlar-stone grandstand, 19th-century limestone lodges & wildlife.
Hidden inside are the most incredible paintings of the family and associates connected to the estate. The views from the roof are simply breathtaking, what a joy to visit
Large parkland to walk in. The lodge itself is just a lone building with nothing much to see.
A hidden little gem of a place deep in the countryside. Beware Satnav takes you through some very tricky, windy small roads but its worth persevering. Great grounds to explore, a house you can walk round with ease that has a varied and colourful past. Quirky, fun, interesting with fabulous views. Don't forget to find the peacocks roaming the grounds too.
Another lovely National Trust property. Welcoming, friendly and helpful guides. Not a huge amount to see in the lodge it's self. Some nice paintings of dogs. Nice fire places. Lovely cafe were you can eat in the courtyard. Grounds are pleasant. Children loved running around. Parking good. Would recommend a visit.
Quiet off the beaten path location, interesting history of the lodge and parklands. Not a lot to see in the building but some lovely paintings. Friendly staff, great views of the surrounding countryside. Peaceful walks around the grounds for those inclined.
Beautiful place, I visited on a sunny day, late summer. The house (it really is a lodge) is small but lovely, with interesting features. The balcony is great, and so are the roof views. The place really gives a sense of how must have been in the golden days. Grounds are lovely. There is a main field area for walks, but lacks signage so one is not sure where is OK to go. The perfect dog walk! There is a small cafe and gift shop. I am not sure how those less able would get upstairs/downstairs, please check before visiting as I am not sure if there is a lift. Overall, a lovely afternoon!
