This 14th-century manor house is a treasure trove of medieval architecture, featuring a mix of Gothic and Perpendicular styles. The property boasts an impressive Great Hall with a grand wooden ceiling, ornate stone fireplaces, and stunning stained-glass windows. The manor's tranquil atmosphere is enhanced by its picturesque surroundings, including a beautiful courtyard, a walled garden, and a scenic walk along the River Cary.
One of the smaller national trust property's but deffinatly worth a visit. All volunteers very friendly and helpfull. Small coffee shop / cafe which sold enough choice in drink and food. Nice little 2nd hand book shop of which I found something of interest to buy. Plenty of outside seating if you decide to have your food or drink there. House is small but atleast you get to see everything as no areas shut for restoration..volunteers on the day we visited were so friendly and a delight to talk to. Car park was too full when we arrived but they opened another section(overflow car park) which had a lot more spaces.
Originally the family home of Henry Lyte. An interesting old medieval Manor House with an even older chapel that was completed in 1348. There are several walks around the estate and some nice gardens. One of the smaller NT properties but certainly worth a visit.
Super tranquil NT property. Lovely gardens and an equally lovely house. There were lots of staff dotted around the house to give you history on the property. Lovely cream tea too!
Followed the Riverside walk with our dog which was really well marked (purple route). Our dog enjoyed a splash in the river. We couldn't go into the grounds as no dogs allowed there. We had a lovely drink in the cafe and delicious hogroast sausage rolls. And our dog enjoyed her doggie ice cream.
Lovely house with interesting garden to wander around. Not a lot of flowers but still very inviting with lots of different areas to explore. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful. Lovely courtyard outside the cafe for lunch.
Nice house and gardens, we couldn't see all the gardens due to bad weather and the barns were too muddy to view. Rooms were quite small so as a family of 4 we couldn't fit in certain spaces with others. Worth a visit along with other local properties to fill the day.
