Grand 18th-century mansion and estate, also available to hire for weddings and corporate events.
What a beautiful place! Went to the local makers event and made the most, looking around the stalls of the event and buying a few things, then visiting the house, stables and garden and new orchard. The model railway is really impressive! Staff all passionate about their roles. Interesting info regarding the house and its family. Enjoyed browsing the second hand bookshop too. The new orchard looks like it will be really pretty once the trees get bigger. The horse sculpture was a really eye catching feature. Plenty to see and do and all set in amazing grounds.
A little less spectacular than some of the other NT sites in the north east. The house was pleasant with many enthusiastic volunteers with a wealth of knowledge. The model railway was impressive if you enjoy them. The entrance fee is cheap for non members but the cafe will make up for it. PS29 for a sandwich, a sausage roll, 2 cakes, 2 drinks and 2 packets of crisps. Ouch. The grounds weren't much and mostly grass. I wouldn't feel the need to revisit.
A hidden little gem for a picnic on a sunny day. House is full of furniture as it was left to N. T. In 1961. Good for a lookaround. Nice cafe to sit outside. Visitors ACCESS off Ladgate Lane
This a lovely house with some really nice gardens and walks. However, getting there was very confusing. We ended up passing an entrance that said 'staff and deliveries only' so we drove past only to find a locked gate and sign saying next entrance. We drove back and went through the gate , followed the path to where some cars were parked. No signage, we left by another road but again no signage? I am glad we didn't drive off, but very nearly did.
A little gem of a place right in the middle of industrial Middlesbrough.wonderful Georgian small stately home and gardens. A family interested in taking photographs at the turn of the 19 century. Wonderful tea gardens serving cream teas with clotted cream and earl grey tea. Prosecco options too ! A lovely afternoon in the sun.
My Visit Here Was A Happy Accident As I Needed To Recharge My Car And Passed The Entrance To Ormsby On My Way To The Charging Point. The Staff And Volunteers Are Very Knowledgeable About The History Of The Hall And I Passed A Very Pleasant Hour In The House And Ate A Lovely Bowl Of Tomato Soup For Lunch From The Cafe Facility. I Would Highly Recommend A Visit To This National Trust Property With Extensive Grounds For Walking And A Good Sized Carpark Of It's Own.
