Originating in 1470 and rebuilt in 1793, this waterfront mansion with art & gardens offers tours.
What a superb place this is! In a fantastic location, there is a lot to see. The grounds are magnificent - with plenty of open spaces for the children to let off steam plus very well maintained borders, plants and shrubs for us to admire. The house is impressive. Obviously there's a lot of history to digest but it's an interesting one. There's also a very nice cafe with plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy a snack in the sunshine (we struck lucky on our visit!). Another lovely National Trust property well worth a visit.
Such a beautiful location. Lovely place to take a picnic. Lots of grounds to walk around. Some routes are pram friendly and others require stairs. But there's always a way to get around. The ice cream is delicious! There were lawn games out for the children and the adventure playground was a hit!
The fifth star is for the location. The views from the property are fantastic. We didn't get to explore the gardens and land as much as we would have liked to, as we stopped by late in the day whilst passing through the area. Getting to the house from the car park via the shop/ticket office is a bit of a walk, and a little bit longer if you need a smooth path to get down.
Wonderful place to come and spend a few hours. Great place for children and adults alike. Wonderful ground if you just want to come for a walk with a lovely view across the Menai Straits. The ice cream was amazing with lots of choice and really good flavours. The murals inside the house were particularly impressive.
Beautiful house and garden. Lovely setting overlooking Nenai Straits. Excellent food, especially children's menu. Only slight drawback the shuttle bus wasn't running .
Gorgeous house, gardens and woodlands! Even got to see a rare red squirrel, after getting tips from the staff about where to go to look for them. Very peaceful, lovely place. Same as with every NT place though the cafe is overpriced at PS7.20 for a hard old scone and a cuppa tea
