Sandy beaches, clifftop views, military history, a look-out, a bird hide, holiday cottages and a lighthouse on a rugged headland reserve, with the SW Coast Path. Limited parking and toilets.
Took a drive around to visit a spot we had talked about during our previous visits to Cornwall. We were not disappointed. Lovely quite isolated spot with some lovely history and on a sunny day offered us a quiet bench to while away an hour looking out to sea watching the boats come and go. Not much wind as can be seen by Pinnucia motoring back to St Mawes. Free parking for National Trust members. Single track road for approx 2 miles, which could be time consuming in busy periods.
Passed through on a coastal walk and was impressed to find cannon-proofed public toilets. That's a first! The holiday let cottages looked attractive and the position is just perfect with massive views all around.
Lovely little place to explore. Lots of great views and some WW2 battery ruins to see. The lighthouse is a holiday let so I would recommend you see it from the battery and don't walk down to it
Very windy but great views of St Mawes and Falmouth. Some information about the military history. Good link to the South Wedt coastal path. Tricky to get to if you don't like narrow lanes.
Lovely place. Great walk along the coastal path. Stunning in the sunshine.
We had a great walk across the cliff tops here. Beautiful scenery. Good parking, free to National Trust members. Nice clean toilets. This was our second visit, we had previously visited to walk to the lighthouse. I'd definitely go again.
