Stackpole is both a listed designed landscape and an internationally important nature reserve. Footpaths radiate from the site of Stackpole Court, a grand mansion demolished before the National Trust owned this area. Exotic plantings in Lodge Park give way to mixed woodland further upstream. The famous Bosherston Lakes were created 200 years ago to provide a backdrop to Stackpole Court. They have evolved into a wildlife habitat famous for its otters, water birds and dragonflies. Cliffs, sand dunes and tiny coves alternate along eight miles of coastline. Barafundle is a jewel of a beach set between limestone cliffs and backed by dunes and woods.
Lovely variety of scenery: wooded areas, stony and sandy beaches, dunes, cliffs and far-reaching views along the coast. Reasonable cost to park all day or for three hours. A variety of different walks to suit most, or just sit and enjoy treats from the cafe overlooking the beach.
A lovely quiet, but rocky beach. Access is via a single track road and limited parking and is VERY busy on Bank holidays. So don't bring a big vehicle and if you can't reverse your vehicle - then best to stay at home
A great day out, for families or walkers
I love discovering and exploring National Trust places and Stackpole is no disappointment! Fab estate with loads of walks and beaches. Would've liked a guide to help us learn more once we had gotten to the courtyard area and more toilets if possible.
A wonderful place to come for a walk. There's a good size carpark with toilets. There is a great walk whichever way you walk along the coast path.
Beautiful place to visit. Have to travel through country lanes to get to carpark but big open car park with no height restrictions. Quay is directly opposite the car park and a great place for swimming. Public toilets onsite too. Great place to go on for other walks. @momentsofoutdoors for more photos
