Welcome to Nature in Art, the world's first museum and art gallery dedicated to fine, decorative and applied art inspired by nature. Our unrivalled collection is housed in a fine Georgian mansion, just 2 miles north of Gloucester. We have a renowned artist in residence programme, varied special exhibitions, over 40 art courses a year, monthly talks, children's activities, family days, a coffee shop, gift shop and sculpture garden. Access to the garden and coffee shop is free.
A lovely visit to one of the most beautiful collections of nature based artwork I have ever seen, you can't take photos inside the building but can outside. Worth every penny. We also ate in the cafe and it was delicious.
Wheelchair accessible. There's a smallish lift to the second floor - my Trekinetic powerchair fit (I pushed in the footplate and we put the chair in the upright position). Two galleries on the ground floor, a gift shop, loos including an accessible loo (a small steep slope to access these) and the cafe. They had GF cake (prepacked). Wheelchair access to the garden. Wheelchair access to the separate building where there is often an additional exhibition (and where they hold workshops). There's also wheelchair access to the artist in residence's studio. We went for the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, which was great.
What a charming and quaint place to go for not just coffee, but for interesting art. There's a charming cafe that gives off wonderful tea-room vibes with equally wonderful volunteers. Great value coffee and tea, with a generous assortment of cakes and lunch options. They even do a cream tea! The exhibitions you have to pay to gain entry (at a reasonable fee) but the cafe and gardens are free to enter. There are lovely sculptures and art on display in the gardens, where nature has definitely become a part of; creating a thought-provoking and wonderful display. This is a good place to stop off if you want to take kids out, and seems very popular with cyclists. There are a couple of Public Rights of Way nearby as well, so if you're out on a walk, it's definitely worth popping in.
This is a great showcase of art from and for all walks of life. Very welcoming staff. Ideal location for a couple of AC charging sockets. Nice revenue for the site too.
Nature in Art is a beautiful place where you can immersive yourself in both nature and art. The grounds are peaceful, idyllic and very well kept. It is a fantastic location for familes, couples, nature and art enthusiasts alike. The range if sculptors around the grounds along with the galleries and artists in residence makes Nature in Art a fantastic place to visit for all.
Nature in Art is a gem that beckons both art connoisseurs and nature enthusiasts. It's a place where the strokes of the artist's brush and the intricacies of the natural world converge, leaving visitors with a profound appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us.
