A picturesque village situated on the north bank of the River Wensum, surrounded by rolling countryside and wooded valleys, offering scenic walks, historic architecture, and a tranquil atmosphere.
Absolutely lovely little mooring, when you can get in that is, we went May 2 years running and had no chance, we went this April amd got in, was only one other boat in there then one came in after us, that was it for the night. I highly recommend it and its not too far to walk to The Fudge Lady, fudge all freshly home made is amazing.ypu can also moor up at Gayes Staithe which is just around the corner, also a shot walk to The Fudge Lady too.
Perfect location for a night's stay whilst on your boat. Short walk to a village shop and an amazing pub.
Lovely place, don't miss "The Fudge Lady", 300 yards from the staith car park, excellent price just PS1.50 a bag, PS2 for Bauleys flavour tho! Lovely village stores with tea/coffee to take away or sit out the front. The gift shop looked lovely but is sadly closed Mon to weds so couldn't going. At the little car park there a great climbing wall too!
Moorings provides water pumping for a donation, just be aware that at least on the eastern side if you are too far towards the mouth of the mooring area the hose may not reach - it is really only on the extreme and I don't think it requires a longer hose, just something to be aware of if your need for water is severe
This is a nice small parking area for your boat with bins and recycling at the end. However, the electrical hook-up did not work for us and the water refill pipe had been removed for some unspecified reason so we could not get a refill. There is a nice community shop about 300 m along the road - a good place to get all sorts of essentials.
Beautiful, quiet mooring. Very close to White Horse pub.
