A popular seaside resort located in the Wirral Peninsula, Merseyside, featuring a long sandy beach, promenade, and a range of amenities including cafes, restaurants, and amusement arcades. The beach is a hub for water sports and activities, with opportunities for sailing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. The nearby Floral Pavilion and Marine Point offer additional entertainment options, including a theatre, cinema, and bowling alley. The area is also home to the New Brighton Lighthouse, a historic landmark that offers stunning views of the Irish Sea.
Vast beach on Mersey estuary. Safe sand, perfect for castle building! Interesting views across river - container base, city-scape, estuary mouth. Quirky 'castle' has cafe. Free parking, in car park and along the promenade. Funfair, ice cream parlour etc just across the road. Several cafes, bars, and restaurant chains nearby.
Visited New Brighton Beach on a Saturday afternoon. The free parking is a great asset. There were plenty of spaces to be had. We only had a quick walk along the beach but found it really clean with lifeguards in attendance.
Rather a nice place to visit, great beaches, good places to eat & drink. Great to get up close to the lighthouse when the tide is out, good view of Liverpool & the docks. I was listening to a busker strumming on his guitar (some great tunes) while I just sat on a bench for over an hr watching the world go by on a sunny day, I gave him a couple of quid when I left & said "it's been a pleasure listening to you" "Hey man, anything to make people happy"....he did
Not been since I was a child. Plenty of parking. Very relaxed atmosphere. There was lots of cockle shells or mussel shells if you enjoy that sort of thing
New Brighton has a surprisingly massive stretch of beach. The promenade is literally miles long. If you walk the promenade from Morrisons to the ferry pub and back you'll get 10,000 steps in and the views are great. When the tides out there is plenty of sand so it's easy to find places you can spend a few hours. I've included pictures at different times in different weather. When the tides are in and it's windy you can get some high waves crashing over the sea defences.
What an amazing little town. With a great beach lovely walks, and the lighthouse and fort. There's also fairground there lots of little cafes. And free car parking.
