This ancient woodland is a haven for nature lovers, boasting a stunning array of flora and fauna, including rare species of orchids, butterflies, and birds.
A beautiful wetland & woodland combined nature reserve. Teaming with birdlife. Fog friendly, but can be muddy. But then it is a peatbog!
Great place to take the dog or go for a walk through the different grass path ways. (Could be a quite muddy in wet weather or colder months I imagine). If taking a dog please pick up it's muck. Too many people not bothering!
Only a small area and relatively new woodland, but quite quiet and off the beaten track. Small but adequate car park makes this a good starting point for a walk around the surrounding mosses. Looks popular with dog walkers and the paths are fairly decent. Keep an eye out for bird life.
It's slowly being improved, for the better, I mean it looks so much better already. Has got new ponds (waiting for the greenery around to establish so still looks a muddy mess) but the potential is amazing. They have little play structures and wooden insect/animal structures for kids to find/play on. Has a small car park 8-10 cars max. Great place for going for a walk, a bug hunting adventure or to walk your dog. Horseflies can be a menace on the warmer days though
Great little free walk around. Bring wellies if it has rained. About 15 min walk but you can do multiple routes to switch things up. Great for dog walkers - no bins though.
