This thrilling attraction takes you on a journey along the precipice of a former slate quarry, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The walkway is suspended 30 meters above the quarry floor, providing a unique and exhilarating perspective on the rugged beauty of the area. As you make your way along the walk, you'll be surrounded by the remnants of the quarry's industrial past, with old machinery and buildings adding to the sense of history and drama. The walk culminates in a stunning viewing platform, where you can take in the panoramic views of the valley below.
I have walked the Panorama walk in Barmouth countless times but never been to this walk which gives magnificent views of the other end of the estuary. The drive up to the (very limited) parking is steep and narrow but if you are stuck for time on a quite day or if you have limited mobility it's worth the drive (the stretch from the car park including where these photos were taken from is wheelchair friendly and flat).
Absolutely worth the treacherous drive up. Several gates to open on the way. There are 3 spaces at the top. No facilities. A picnic bench and several benches along the walk. Probably wouldn't recommend it if you have kids under 6 who can't be trusted. It is disabled friendly for the first section of the walk. The views are absolutely beautiful and you can see down the estuary to Barmouth. We didn't manage a round trip. We meandered for about 40 minutes to the waterfall and the derelict house before turning back. Will definitely return next year.
A fantastic walk with some excellent views up the valley and down the estuary. Parking is limited but free and if you don't mind a climb there are other places to park. Once you're up on the hill it's very easy going on pretty much flat ground and constant panoramic views.
Great views steep single track access with gates. Parking for three cars at the top. No facilities!! Beware this is a challenging drive up with no options to change you're mind, once your committed you're going.
Easy walk on flat ground. Drive up to carpark is very narrow and winding and road has many gates but well worth it when you get to the top. Breathtaking views
Beautiful walk. The drive up to the location is good single track fun through farm land, good if you have a willing passenger to open the 3 or 4 cattle gates which you need to drive through. I thought the sat nav had gone wrong but it hadn't. The first section of the walk is gentle. There is a low metal safety railing which would benefit wheelchair users. The views are stunning. Good walk for families.
